Shirley

It's been one week now that Shirley has been gone. Even though she was only in our lives for 3 years, we miss her.

I don't know much about her first 14 years of her life except that her former owner, Kathy, cared about her dog. But their lives were constantly uprooted when moved about in public housing. When Kathy died, no plans had been made as to what would happen to Shirley.

I tried to find a home for Shirley but no one wanted a 14 year old dog who had not been spayed. We took her into our home and she was a wonderful dog. She never barked and loved being around people. Even our two cats got used to her. She loved going for walks and she could run faster than me. She was 17 years old with failing health when we decided it was her time. Thank you again for making her passing very peaceful.
